Jennifer Lopez was the first woman to win the Billboard Icon Award in 2014. She was named ninth among all-time dance club artists by Billboard magazine in 2016. She received the Telemundo Star Award in 2017. At the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards, Lopez won the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, making history as the first Latin musician to do so since the award’s inception in 1984.
